In her Author’s talk, Zafra lamented the lack of support for arts and culture. The book series is a compilation of her columns and essays published in the newspapers. Her columns used a sharp wit oozed with sarcasm, loved by “Generation X.” Topics in her regular pieces included politics, movies, politicians and her everyday routine.įor a time, Zafra brought her Twisted series to radio and television, hosting shows, discussing the pieces she writes daily. Zafra shot into fame in the 90s with her “Twisted” column, which appeared in the national broadsheet, Today, which is now merged with Manila Standard Today. “I write 1,000 words a day and do this as my routine, if I don’t, I feel bad,” Zafra added. The author engaged the audience about her work as well as her experiences as a writer for almost three decades.
